Kuishimbo Japanese Food in Vienna

Das Lokal erinnert unglaublich an was man in Tokio an allen Ecken und Enden findet, es ist klein und im hinteren Ende dampft es, dort kochen 3-4 kleiner Japaner dicht-gedrängt was das Zeug hält. Wann man reinkommt, wird man von der gesamten Mannschaft begrüßt und es riecht fantastisch, einfach nach Japan. Eine lange Liste an Speisen gibt´s zur Auswahl, alles an der Wand aufgelistet: Suppen, Sushi, Gemüse, Tofu, Nachspeisen

I've passed by this place a million times but never went in cause I just assumed its another: Chinese-does-Japanese-stupid-Westerners-can't-tell-us-apart type spot. Wrong, so very very wrong! One day I walked-by and as a customer was leaving I heard the tell-tale bellow of: "arigato gozaimasu".  I considered committing Seppuku on the spot, for my erroneous assumption had kept me from filling my belly with Japanese delights over the past few months.   
As soon as you walk in you can smell the aroma of the Dashi (Japanese stock made from Algae and Bonito flakes).  The owners/cooks are Japanese, the flavours authentic and the menu covers some typical dishes at mostly reasonable prices (Udon soup for under 10eur).
This is just one of those spots I hate to tell you about cause now it's gonna be all the harder to get a seat.

Draußen ist es kalt und alles was ich will ist ein großer Topf Suppe. Die meisten Suppen sind allerdings mit Fleisch od. Fisch, nach einer kurzen Nachfrage bekomme ich die „Habeyaki-Udon´s“ aber auch mit Tofu anstatt von Huhn. 5 Minuten nach Bestellung bekommen wir schon unsere dampfenden Töpfe serviert, die Suppe ist unglaublich heiß und das rohe Ei darin wird zum hartgekochten Spiegelei. Mein erster Gedanke: jawohl, es schmeckt nach Japan. Die Nudeln, das Gemüse, die Brühe – einfach genau so wie es sein soll um wieder gut gewärmt in die Kälte zu treten. Ich komme wieder.
